ELIZABETH (?) was born Feb. 4, 1822 in Ohio, and died Nov. 29, 1901 in Iowa. She married (1) JOHN HOWLAND Abt. 1839 in Monroe County, Ohio, son of BRIGGS HOWLAND and ABIGAIL MERROW. She married (2) ELIJAH JEFFERS July 15, 1857 in Dallas County, Iowa.

When our subject was 12 his parents (John & Lydia Howland) moved to Wayne County, NY and there in 1837 his mother died. Later his father, with his children, moved to Ohio, settling in Monroe County. A year later our subjects father was again married (Elizabeth), and shortly after removed to Polk County Iowa, where his death occured.
