EVERETT OXLEY   ( Clare, Henry ) was born September 29, 1781 in Pennsylvania, and died 1824 in Louisville, Kentucky. He married CELIA JANE SCOTT November 30, 1806 in Kentucky, daughter of JOHN SCOTT and MARY PRYOR.

Celia Scott Oxley, wife of Everett Oxley was born in Virginia on October 1, 1781. She died in Linn County Iowa on August 28, 1856. She is buried in Campbell's Cemetery.

Celia Scott and Everett Oxley (1781-1824) were married in Kentucky, and were the parents of six sons. Everett died in 1824 as the result of an accident with an axe. Celia and her sons then moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana. In 1838, one of her sons relocated to Linn County, with the rest of the sons and Celia coming in 1840. Her sons were John Scott Oxley, Oliver Hazard Perry Oxley, William Clair Oxley, Everett Oxley and Micajah Simpson Oxley. Late in life, Celia married a worker on her farm named Sid Williams. When she died she was buried in Campbell Cemetery. Her descendants still include many residents of Linn County.
